We are located in Iowa. We have decided to raise only dachshunds. We still have a special place in our hearts for Collies. Our first Collie that we aquired was back in the fall of 1989. King was our sable/white rough coat male Collie. He was a wonderful dog, very smart, loving and an excellent companion. King was shown in 4-H and won many ribbons. He loved being in the show ring and showing off for a crowd. We also have a great love for dachshunds. The Dachshund was bred in Germany more than 300 years ago to hunt badgers and other tunneling game. Dachshunds are fascinating little dogs that adjust well to almost any situation. Dachshunds do just fine in an apartment, house, or even on a farm. Dachshunds are good companion dogs, and good watch dogs. They are the perfect lap dog, very loyal, and love to cuddle up under the blankets to watch T.V. with you. With the proper care and lots of love a dachshund can live a long and happy life up to 12 years of age or even longer. Our first dachshund that we aquired back in the year of 2000 was Cheeko. We have had dachshunds for 9 years now. We could not imagine our lives without these wonderful little dogs. We have learned a lot since our first dachshund, and will always continue to do so. Our adult dachshunds are only registered with the American Kennel Club. (AKC) We have and continue to put an expensive investment into our dogs to ensure their excellent health. If AKC would happen to pull paperwork on one of our sires/dams and the dog came from another breeder and it is their fault JEMD Dachshunds will not be held responsible for other breeder/kennels mistakes or misrepresentation of AKC information. JEMD Dachshunds will not register any adult/puppy with another registry. We are trying our best to buy or trade with good honest people/breeders. We have had many awful experiences, and have been sold Pet Quality dachshunds, when it was clear that we were seeking nice Breeding Quality with Full AKC. We have learned a lot from all the unfortunate experiences. We love our dachshunds a lot and provide a safe and clean environment for them to live in. Our adult dachshunds and puppies are fed good quality food and they get the best care possible. All of our adult dachshunds and puppies are a part of the family and live inside the home with us. Our puppies are born inside the home where we are right there with the female when she is giving birth, the puppies stay inside the home and are raised under foot. We give all of our dachshunds love and attention everyday. They constantly have human contact, are very spoiled and love being held and watching TV with us. At JEMD Dachshunds we have some beautiful dachshunds which we are very proud of. We do not knowingly sell to puppy mills or pet stores. We do not approve of puppy mills, people judging other people when they do not even know them, and being put in the middle of gossip about other people/breeders without even knowing it, or others going around and saying that we said this or that. Here at JEMD Dachshunds we do not gossip and do not go around talking bad about anyone or spreading lies about them. We try our best not to judge others. Everyone has a different way of doing things and we respect that. At JEMD Dachshunds we want to place our puppies in loving pet homes were they are wanted and well cared for. We do not want any of our puppies to live where they can not be well cared for and get lots of love and attention. Most of our dachshunds go into loving pet homes, which we prefer that way they will be loved and happy just being a lap dog/couch potato. We highly recommend that our puppies be spayed/nuetered at the appropriate age. Sometimes after careful evaluation by our vet some quality puppies are available with Full AKC Registration. Puppies are ready to be picked up at 8 weeks of age. Shipping is also available if needed and with the weather permiting. JEMD Dachshunds holds the right to refuse sale of an adult/puppy if we feel the need to. We also hold the right to keep a puppy longer if we feel it is not mature enough to leave our home at 8 weeks of age. Not sure which puppy/adult you want?
